Love Is A Verb

I think about this concept often. When my children come to me and say the words, “I love you, Mommy,” yes, it feels nice to hear. But I must confess, that when they unexpectedly go out of their way to help me in the house or do the right thing when I know how hard it was to choose, or when they tell me how much they appreciate something I have done for them, I have to say that, that is when I truly “feel” loved.
When Christ came into this world, He never stood up and said, “I love you.” He simply “showed” us in every minute of every day that He existed in this world. Christ is our example of how to “show” love in this world. He showed us a love that was sacrificial and without judgment or expectation. Through His example we can be inspired to truly demonstrate our love for people in the world through our compassion, mercy, willingness to forgive, empathy, help to those in need, generosity, kindness, affection and patience.
Love was never designed to simply stop at a “feeling” that we experience deep down on the inside that can’t be seen by others. Let your love be seen and let Christ’s light be known.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
